About this service
Supported Independent Living This program is designed to provide individually tailored residential supports to assist adults with a developmental disability in meeting their goal of living independently (or inter-dependently) in the community. Facilitators provide assistance in various areas such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, medication administration, budgeting, use of public transit, home management, health promotion, and community orientation and participation. Facilitators also support individuals in their choice of working, volunteering, or leisure activities. Supports are based on the principles of person-directed planning, self-determination, social inclusion, citizenship, and choice.
