About this organization

Weekly educational groups at 9 locations in Winnipeg -prenatal and postnatal- interactive, health/nutrition/parenting focus, reaching out to all populations. Supplemented with healthy snacks, coupons for free milk and eggs, childminding on site, bus tickets as needed for getting to and from group meetings. Facilitated outreach staff, dietitian and a public health nurse. One site provides interpreters of up to 15 languages. One on one support via home visits. (problem solving & encouragement, individual learning, referral, learning to make baby food, etc.) Regular making baby food sessions in year. Opportunity to buy ready-to cook Meal Bags (ingredients and recipe for $1.50) year around.

NOTE; Due to COVID-19, Healthy Start drop-in community groups have temporarily stopped.

The staff are available to talk via phone for any pregnancy and parenting questions, and are now offering 4 different VIRTUAL GROUPS. For more information, visit the website.
