About this service
All Healthy Start groups are suspended due to COVID-19
Our pregnancy program welcomes pregnant people to share their concerns and connect with other parents and resources in their community.
We provide a safe place to explore and learn.
We spend part of each drop-in group discussing a featured topic like labour, prenatal nutrition, preparing to breastfeed, discomforts during pregnancy and stressors. Youd be amazed at how many parents find comfort in simply talking to other parents-to-be!
Nurses, outreach workers and dietitians are also available throughout the session to provide group and one-on-one support.
We end each group with a delicious and healthy snack, complete with nutrition tips and cooking advice. We provide participants with recipes, the chance to purchase meal bags for $1.50, food coupons (if needed) and bus tickets (if eligible).
Parents-to-be with older kids (ages 1-5) are welcome to bring them along to be cared for by our responsible child-minding volunteers.
