OVERNIGHT WARMING CENTRE

The Overnight Warming Centre is a service offered by the City of Quinte West, providing space for residents to stay warm during extreme cold temperatures. It is located at the Trenton United Church and operates from December 15 until March 31. Operating hours for the centre are nightly from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. Please note that it is a space for people seeking relief from the cold and does not provide beds or meals. Volunteers interested in helping can get in touch with the Volunteer and Information Centre of Hastings and Prince Edward Counties. Additionally, the city also runs a Cooling Centre at the Duncan McDonald Memorial Arena for times of extreme heat, activated when there are two consecutive days of temperatures of 31 degrees or higher or humidex values of 35 degrees Celsius or higher, open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
