About this service
ENCORE is a FREE exercise and educational program designed specifically for women who have experienced Breast Cancer (mastectomy, lumpectomy or breast reconstruction surgery) at any time in their lives. Based around floor and pool exercises and program education, ENCORE is safe, fun, and therapeutic. It is a supportive environment where women learn useful life skills and are able to share their experiences, concerns, and feelings with other women who will understand. Wellness professionals provide educational tools for life with and beyond cancer.
YWCA ENCORE can help women:
- Improve mobility and flexibility in the arms and shoulders
- Improve strength in the upper body
- Boost self-esteem and self-image
- Relieve some of the discomforts associated with surgery
- Develop a positive attitude towards health and life.
