About this service
The Alzheimers Day Program is a social club aimed to support adults who are coping with the specific effects of Alzheimers disease or other forms of dementia, and want to stay in the community, in their own homes, or living with their families.
The program uses Montessori principles that focus on goal-based activities and one-on-one support. Participants can take part in a range of arts, cultural, gardening, cooking, and exercise activities. The program focuses on the unique needs and abilities of each person. The group has access to a beautiful courtyard garden that is safe and secure.
The program also supports families and caregivers. Alzheimers Society of Waterloo Wellington provides an education series that shares valuable information that can be used to help support the family and their loved one in the home.
