About this service
SIRCH Community Services runs two programs, CPNP (Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program) and CAPC (Community Action Program for Children), in Haliburton County and the City of Kawartha Lakes. CPNP, also known as Bumps & Babies, meets weekly to provide prenatal and new mothers with support and information on topics including pregnancy, breastfeeding, nutrition, and parenting. The program also provides meals, fresh produce, additional food, and prenatal vitamins. The CAPC program, called Way to Grow, serves parents with children below the age of six. It helps parents learn to cook nutritious meals on a budget, share information on a variety of topics, and provides tips about the agencies and support services that can assist families with financial, housing, legal, personal, vocational, or social issues. Stimulating activities designed to increase developmental and social skills for children are also a part of the program. Transportation is provided if needed for both programs.
