About this service
SIRCH - Cook It Up is a free job training program provided by SIRCH Community Services and funded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation and Fleming College, Muskoka Kawarthas SSM. The program offers in-person training from chefs and mentors, resulting in a Cook It Up Certification with emphasis on Safe Food Handling and COVID protocols. Participants are taught cooking/preparation skills, inventory management, menu planning, budgeting, customer service, teamwork, and even how to start their own food-related business. The program provides support with any barriers to the program such as transportation and childcare, and offers local placement and employment opportunities along with flexible scheduling.
