Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada is an esteemed organization that has been creating impactful mentorship experiences for youth since 1912. It is a federation that incorporates 108 member agencies that service more than 1,100 communities across Canada. This federation has managed to positively change the lives of more than 40,000 youths in a year through the dedication of over 21,300 mobilized volunteers. This organization is committed to diminishing societal barriers that many children and youth face by matching them with mentors with similar interests. It offers high-quality, volunteer-based mentorship programs aimed at fostering development and breaking cycles of poverty, crime, and mental health issues among young people. It is also noted for employing staff members who are experts in volunteer screening and matching. Furthermore, it was named among the top 25 charities in 2016. The work of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada extends beyond mentorship as it also engages in events, accepts donations, and partners with other entities in the broader community.
