About this service

At the heart of this emerging initiative is the belief that we all need a safe home. And we all need connection to other humans. North Hastings, like most places across Canada, is experiencing a housing crisis. Home Share is grounded in a community response to rural homelessness and social isolation. This model is flexible and based on the needs and resources in our community. Home Share empowers home providers and home seekers with the ability to live in affordable, shared accommodation that is a mutual benefit to all. We are at the initial stages of development, looking at other home share models, best practices, and processes. Our goal is to match homeowners with people seeking homes in a supportive matching process.
