About this service
With 30 raised garden beds throughout Bancroft, the gardens are doing more than grow food - they are bringing us together and building a stronger, more resilient community. It is all of us making this happen - from the generous donations of our local businesses, expertise of local farmers and growers, commitment and hours of work from hundreds of people of all ages - building and growing - both food and friendships. The gardens continue to bring people together from diverse backgrounds and life experiences, and has helped reduce both economic and social barriers to inclusion. Indeed, the gardens have provided an exceptional example of community engagement, crime reduction and at the same time address local food insecurity issues.
