About this organization

Valley Community Services Community Services is a non-profit society and a registered charitable organization established in 1996 providing social services to Creston and surrounding communities. Services including counselling, early childhood development, early years programming and seniors programming.

At VCS, we design programs, the service environment and interactions in a way that attempts to avoid triggering past traumas and encourages healing and good mental health. Meeting people where they are and providing space that supports comfort and progress facilitates our work and provides opportunity for positive change.

Trauma-informed care is based on understanding that many people have experienced events that were traumatic or stressful. Supports are preventive and rehabilitative and sensitive to peoples' experiences.
