Created for youth by youth, Ground Zero is an emergency transitional housing program, offering an immediate, safe place to live while obtaining secure, long-term housing. WHO IS IT FOR? Youth ages 16-18 years old who require emergency transitional housing. REFERRALS Ministry of Social Services. Mobile Crisis. Saskatchewan Health Authority. Other EGADZ programs and services. Community agencies. Community members. Police and other emergency services. Self-Referrals. If the home is at full capacity, referrals are still accepted and will be added to the programs waitlist. For more information please call (306) 933-9949 AT GROUND ZERO, YOUTH HAVE ACCESS TO: Private Bedroom Nutrition Laundry Facilities Medical Services Onsite Ministry Liaison Worker Mental Health and Substance Use Services (onsite Addictions Counsellors and Mental Health Nurses) School Services and Supports On-Site Support 24/7 Mobile Ground Zero Outreach (7 days a week; 4:00pm-8:00am) Emergency placement available 24/7 Ground Zero opened its doors in July 2021, creating a safe, stable, inclusive, nonjudgmental, supportive and transformative place for the most vulnerable youth in our city. Ground Zero has a total of 10 placements for youth ages 16-18 years of age inclusive and supportive of all genders and sexual orientations. We accept emergency placement 24 hours a day, seven days a week without advance notice and may accommodate youth for 30 days at a time. Opportunity to create individual case plan Upon admission, the Ground Zero staff will provide the youth with basic needs and a tour of the home. The youth will then have 24 hours to rest and reset before sitting down to create their own individual case plan and goals that are tailored to their individual needs.
