Quebec Prostitution Intervention Project

The PIPQ ensures, thanks to its three components of prevention and intervention (street and community work, animation in youth and living environments), a significant presence and personalized support in the trajectory of people of all ages, and all genders that are active, have already been active or are at risk of finding themselves in a dynamic of prostitution or sexual exploitation. In line with the philosophy of risk reduction and through a global and integrated approach, we aim to:

• Develop and offer alternatives to prostitution;
• Sensitize the community to the phenomenon of prostitution and sexual exploitation;
• Support and equip people in the community and workers who work with people who are, or have been, at risk of ending up in prostitution;
• Promote well-being, individual and collective autonomy while promoting better sexual health;
• Prevent, inform and educate young people on the causes and consequences of the prostitution phenomenon and other associated issues.
