Mission
The Association of Families of Persons Assassinated or Disappeared (AFPAD) is a non-profit organization that operates in all regions of Quebec, whose main mission is to break the isolation experienced by the families of victims by offering resources and various tools in order to rebuild their lives.
Goals
- Provide families with information, emotional support and referral services
- Follow up on homicide and disappearance cases
- Represent families with institutions and political authorities
- Collaborate with organizations whose role is to support victims of crime
- Accompany families in different stages of their bereavement
- Provide opportunities for families to bond with other families
- Promote the adoption of a Victims Bill of Rights so that victims and criminals are truly equal before the law
- Support violence and crime prevention initiatives
