About this organization

The Toronto Rape Crisis Centre / Multicultural Women Against Rape (TRCC/MWAR) is a grassroots, women and non-binary people run collective. We work towards a violence-free world by providing anti-oppressive, feminist peer support to survivors of gender-based or sexualized violence. We engage in public education, activism, and provide direct individual and group support to survivors and their supporters.

The TRCC/MWAR stands with and supports Black survivors and Black community members. We know rape culture is inherently tied to white supremacist settler colonialism, which contributes to Black Canadians facing higher rates of violence.

Our fellow staff member, activist, and advocate, Claude Boulanger would like to hold space for fellow Black survivors of sexual and gendered violence.
