About this organization
Broad Reach was founded in 1998 with a single boat and a small group of dedicated sailors. They wished to offer at-risk youth opportunities to discover the sport, science, and experience of sailing.
Twenty one years later, Broad Reach, operates four sailboats and is supported by two full-time staff and fifty volunteers. It remains the only registered charity in Ontario where programs are free, and sailing is a platform for youth to develop knowledge, skills, values, and community belonging.
