About this service
Provides direct services for off reserve Aboriginal Pregnant Women and Families, Aboriginal Children and Youth, and networking with mainstream and Aboriginal agencies/organizations. Also increases awareness of risks associated with alcohol/drug consumption during pregnancy, including breastfeeding and alcohol use.
- Increase the awareness in pregnant women regarding proper nutrition and the impacts of malnutrition on infant development
- Increase youth awareness of the prevention and impacts of FASD and Healthy Sexuality
- Improve access to Aboriginal FASD and nutrition series for clients and their families
The Aboriginal FASD/Child Nutrition program strives to assist with FASD and Child Nutrition resources available to urban Aboriginal people. It offers both traditional and contemporary approaches to FASD and Child nutrition, on-site training and consultation. The program also provides intervention, prevention and programming including community development related to FASD and Nutrition.
