About this service
The Respite Care Program is designed to provide the relief and support families with adult and/or children who have a developmental disability need to enable them to remain in their home. The program offers subsidy funds and resources to support families in meeting their needs and the specialized needs of their loved ones.
The Respite Care Program offers:
The provision of financial support for the payment of services to the selected respite worker,
Support for families to access the in-home or out-of-home services they need to care for their loved one,
Relief for families to allow them the opportunity to fulfill a variety of needs such as vacations, hospital stays, and weekly shopping trips.
Respite can be provided by relatives, friends, skills care providers and professionals. Care is delivered based on the familys unique needs and can be provided on an occasional or regular basis.
