Northern Youth Services envisions a future where all Sudbury and Manitoulin, Sault Ste. Marie, Nipissing, Muskoka, Parry Sound, Cochrane and Temiskaming area youth have the skills and opportunities they need to respond positively in any situation. For the youth we serve those currently, or at risk of being, in conflict with the law;

What they offer

Northern Youth Services (NYS) provides services to its youth population by authority of its annual service agreement with the Province of Ontario - Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS). As with other organizations operating for the public good, and doing so through the engagement of employees, NYS complies with a large variety of legislative acts and other governmental directives. The daily care of youth for whom NYS is responsible is provided in compliance and in respect of rights as stated in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the Child and Family Services Act and the French Language Services Act, among others. Northern Youth Services operates five different programs in Northern Ontario; one residential program and four community programs.
