About this service
The Support Teens at Risk (STAR) Program helps youth who have experienced crime or trauma get the support they need. It began as a pilot, and an evaluation showed it may improve outcomes, especially for girls. A Youth Outreach Services worker provides crisis help in high schools, safety planning, on-scene support, accompaniment to police or court, help with rides to counseling, and referrals to specialized counseling and community programs; referrals come from schools, police, youth, and community providers.
