About this service

VSLG’s Crisis Intervention Services are available 24/7, with police, fire, or paramedics able to contact teams who respond on-scene. Staff (in pairs or more) meet people where they are - at home, in a hospital, at a police station, a public place, or even roadside - to give emotional support and practical help. This can include listening, staying with someone while they wait for loved ones, providing rides to or from hospital or police, and helping with child care while parents or guardians give a statement. A crime does not need to occur to get help - referrals may involve sudden death, homicide, suicide, motor vehicle crashes, break-ins, assaults, hate crimes, human trafficking, elder or child abuse, fires, disasters, and other crises - and services are free for people of all ages and backgrounds.
