Safety planning services can be requested by police, community services (like the Victim/Witness Assistance Program or Family & Children’s Services), or by anyone seeking help. They support people facing domestic or dating violence, assault, sexual assault, family violence, stalking and harassment, break and enter, home invasion, robbery, elder abuse, human trafficking, hate crime, or sexual exploitation. Teams of two meet in safe, agreed-upon locations to create plans for the home, work, and community, include children when needed, and provide strategies for emotional safety. There are also special services for seniors, including help to prevent fraud and break-ins, home safety audits, and information kits made for older adults.
