About this service
An on-site, temporary classroom like setting, safe and structured, supervised learning environment.
Goals:
- support students working toward positive outcomes, academically and behavioural
- increase students insight into responsible behavior
- develop life skills using a cognitive behavioural approach
- enhance the students self-esteem through achievement
- avoid interruption in a students education by working on assignments provided by their school
- support an Action Plan designed to address behaviours associated with the reason for the referral
Details:
- Students can be referred by their school, parent/guardians, counselors, social workers or Probation Officers, for up to 20 days.
- Parental consent required
- Class runs 8:30 am -12:30 pm, Monday to Friday (9 am-12pm at Trenton Site)
- Students work independently on assignments provided by their teachers and may also work on life skill packages
- 1-1 assistance and support is provided by a qualified Educational Assistant
- Supports re-entry into the school setting
