Victoria Cool Aid Society - Cedar Grove (Supportive Housing)

Supportive housing helps people who have many challenges in their lives, including homelessness or the risk of homelessness, to stay housed. It is ideally suited for people who have been chronically homeless or have cycled in and out of apartments in the past. By staffing these sites, typically around the clock, we are able to support people in their journey forward and respond to neighbourhood needs.

Cool Aid staff actively involve the tenants in building a strong and healthy community. At the same time, we offer them support to develop the skills they need to live independently, including a strong food program. Two old, converted hotel buildings currently provide homes for 21 adults at Cedar Grove. There is a proposal to add 51 more affordable and supportive housing units through a redevelopment. Current tenants will be relocated to other homes during the demolition and reconstruction. The full rezoning application, including drawings, can be seen on the City of Victorias web site.
