About this service
The Community Meals Program is an integral part of the community building programming at all of Pacifica Housing's supportive housing sites. The therapeutic and social value of sharing food is well documented. Community meals also provide opportunities to develop many life skills such as planning, budgeting, meal preparation and teamwork. At our supportive housing sites, staff and volunteers work alongside residents at least once per month to create nutritious shared meals. Cooking together encourages cooperation, builds social connections and strengthens community and supports residents in adopting healthy and nutritious eating habits.
