BCCDC provides health promotion and prevention services, analytical and policy support to government and health authorities, and diagnostic and treatment services to reduce communicable & chronic disease, preventable injury and environmental health risks.

The British Columbia Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) is the provincial public health service providing surveillance, detection, prevention, treatment, policy development, and health promotion programming to promote and protect the health of British Columbians. We are a program of the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) and share the vision, mission and values of the health authority. Learn more about PHSA's vision, mission and values here. BCCDC combines public health practice with research and policy advice. We are the provincial reporting centre for reportable diseases. We provide direct diagnostic and treatment services to people with diseases of public health significance such as tuberculosis and sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections. BCCDC is dedicated to embedding a culture of reconciliation with Indigenous people, anti-racism and quality and safety into all aspects of our programs.
