About this service
BCCDC offers an anonymous HIV testing program. Anonymous HIV testing is a way to test for HIV without collecting identifiable or contact information. All testing, recording and reporting of results is done using a numbered testing code known only to the client. Anonymous testing is an addition to, not a replacement of, existing HIV testing options (e.g. nominal and non-nominal testing or reporting). The objectives of the anonymous HIV testing program are to: increase uptake of HIV testing in clients who may not test or delay testing due to confidentiality concerns (i.e. men who have sex with men, youth, healthcare workers) optimize connection to follow-up, care and support for those who test HIV positive
