Life Cycle Housing Society

Life Cycle Housing has been providing and promoting affordable housing in the Powell River region since 1994. Our purpose is to: Provide and advocate for affordable and accessible housing to meet the varied housing needs of community members now and in the future. Raise awareness and support of the larger community in respect of the particular housing needs and goals of our targeted groups seniors, families and people living with disabilities. Our philosophy is not simply to provide a physical space for people to live, but to create, within our facilities, diverse residential communities which include low and moderate income seniors, persons with disabilities, families, and singles. In doing so, we create healthy, safe neighbourhoods that foster positive interactionamong our tenants and with the larger community. All of our tenants must be capable of living independently as we do not provide support services. The Society provides rental housing at 3 separate properties in the region: 31 units at Ontario Avenue, 12 units at Brew Bay, and 24 at Cranberry Place scheduled for completion in mid to late spring of 2023. As well as providing housing, the Society has sponsored studies and local conferences related to housing and participates in the Citys Housing Roundtable and its associated Steering Committee.
