In May 2011, we launched Compass Church in the south end of Nanaimo under the pastoral leadership of Lisa Wengel. We sent about 30 people from Maranatha to join Lisa and her husband Brian in this new work.

About this service
In May 2011, we launched Compass Church in the south end of Nanaimo under the pastoral leadership of Lisa Wengel. We sent about 30 people from Maranatha to join Lisa and her husband Brian in this new work. Since then, they have established themselves as a significant presence in the University Village area, ministering to the unique needs of that region through such things as food distribution, events for children, and assistance to university students. They have a public worship service at St. Andrews United Church at 311 Fitzwilliam Street, Sunday mornings from 9-10am. All are welcome!
