The bookstore is now open 10am-4pm Monday to Friday, with a limit of 10 people at a time. We are asking that customers sanitize their hands and wear a mask, if they have one. Book bundles can also be ordered for curbside pick up at 250-591-2665.

Literacy Central was incorporated as the Nanaimo Literacy Association in 1990. We have grown both in catchment area and programs, now offering free tutoring services in Nanaimo, Gabriola Island and Ladysmith. Literacy Central VI, Vancouver Island University and the Advanced Education Ministry of the BC Government partner in providing Adult, Youth, Aboriginal and Family Literacy Tutoring. We also partner with Decoda Literacy Solutions, and two of Nanaimo's Rotary Clubs - North Nanaimo and Daybreak as well as receive assistance from BC Gaming and United Way.
