About this organization

Rowan House Society provides crisis intervention, long-term support and preventative education to break the cycle of domestic abuse in our communities. In doing so, we work to fulfill our vision: that we can all thrive in safe and empowering relationships.

Our service area is in southern AB, supporting all towns/rural communities from the city of Calgary border, south to Claresholm, east to Vulcan and west to Bragg Creek/Eden Valley. (Foothills County, the MD of Willow Creek, and Vulcan County)

We offer a number of domestic abuse support and prevention services:

  1. Short-term emergency housing and supports for women and children fleeing abuse
  2. Specialized children's programming in-shelter; including tools to help kids build self-esteem and coping strategies, as well as play therapy and parenting support
  3. Outreach Services for all individuals experiencing abuse - working one-on-one in a community setting
  4. Preventative Education presentations, trainings and education opportunities for the community
