The Rupertsland Centre for Teaching and Learning (RCTL) is part of the Rupertsland Institute and serves as an educational authority for Metis education in Alberta, as mandated by the Metis Nation of Alberta (MNA). RCTL provides resources, lesson plans, professional development opportunities, and classroom tools pertaining to Metis education and is accountable to the Metis people of Alberta and its funding partners. The Centre's vision is to include Metis foundational knowledge and resources in Alberta's education system for all learners and educators. RCTL implements transformative, research-informed, community-guided education and aids educators in developing knowledge about Metis. It collaborates with various Metis community members and aims to enhance the self-sufficiency and well-being of the Metis in Alberta through quality education, training, and research.
