PWPSD Indigenous Education Services is dedicated to supporting the experiences and success of Indigenous students and promoting truth and reconciliation within education for all students and staff. They collaborate in a leadership capacity and aim to improve the experience of Indigenous students. The team, made up of an Indigenous Education Coordinator and three Indigenous Services Provider positions, provides specialized services in Indigenous student wellness and education, fostering and strengthening community relationships. Additionally, there are four school-based roles, including three Indigenous Liaisons at Hythe Regional School and one at Beaverlodge Regional High School, who work to support Indigenous students, build healthy relationships with Indigenous families, and promote representation of Indigenous perspectives and culture. Services also include an Indigenous Guest Speaker Series and Indigenous Student Recognition Awards.
