The Rupertsland Institute (RLI) offers post-secondary financial aid to Metis students through funding from the Government of Canada and the Metis Nation of Alberta. This program aims to minimize education-related financial burdens and increase the number of Metis students completing post-secondary studies. Eligibility for the program includes citizenship of the Metis Nation of Alberta. RLI also offers the Metis Scholar Awards program for financial assistance throughout undergraduate and potentially graduate studies. This program is funded by the Metis Education Foundation (MEF), and awards are managed by individual post-secondary institutions. Certain awards may differ in value, conditions, and availability. Furthermore, the MEF provides two specific Metis Scholar Awards, targeting academic, artistic, and athletic accomplishments, as well as studies in Early Learning and Child Care.
