The Native Counselling Services of Alberta (NCSA) - Grande Prairie is an Indigenous non-profit organization designed to provide legal assistance and court worker assistance for Alberta's Indigenous people. Established over 50 years ago with the goal of securing fair and equitable treatment in the legal system, NCSA has expanded to include family and youth programs as well as two correctional institutions. It also leads in the development of restorative justice models and produces high-quality Indigenous training and resources. The organization follows a philosophy of promoting the resilience of Indigenous families and individuals by reclaiming interconnectedness, reconciling relationships, and ensuring self-determination. NCSA is overseen by six Indigenous board members and an executive officer, with about 85% of its staff identifying as Indigenous.
