About this service
We know that a supportive environment is a key factor in the successful treatment of young people in crisis. Thats why Aspen provides support homes to youth and young adults travelling to Calgary to receive treatment for eating disorders.
In partnership with Alberta Health Services (AHS), this unique program provides young people attending the Calgary Eating Disorder Day Treatment Program with free, supportive accommodations in the homes of trained community host families. Host families provide meals, transportation, supervision, support and opportunities to engage in leisure activities, as well as encouragement in the development of a healthy lifestyle.
WHO IT'S FOR:
Young people aged 12 to 23 receiving day treatment through the 8- to 12-week Calgary Eating Disorder Program at Alberta Childrens Hospital.
HOW TO ACCESS:
Referrals are provided through the Calgary Eating Disorder Program.
