About this service
The Calgary John Howard Society provides reintegration support for individuals who are exiting the justice system. Our staff provide support services based on clients individual needs so they can reintegrate into the community and make a positive change.
Community Re-Entry Support Project
- Adults who are currently incarcerated can be referred by correctional staff, or self-refer
- Help with release planning and finding housing, addictions treatment, education, employment, counselling, identification, family reconnection and other supports in the community
Emergency Assistance and Intake
- Adults in crisis can talk to our intake caseworker via phone, appointment or drop-in
- The caseworker provides assistance directly and/or helps to identify and access resources, based on the clients needs and goals
- Could include help with record suspensions, obtaining identification, accessing income supports and basic needs, transportation, providing referrals in the community, and more
