COVID_19 UPDATE: Counselling and education services have been suspended until March 31. Intakes for counselling and PACES programs have been postponed. Crisis support will continue by phone. Support is also available through Albertas One Line for Sexual Violence at 1-866-403-8000 via phone, text, or chat.
The Police And Court Education and Support (PACES) Program provides specialized information, education, and support to past or recent survivors of sexual assault and their families. PACES exists specifically to support and advocate for survivors as they navigate the legal system.
For many survivors of sexual abuse and sexual assault, choosing to engage in the criminal or civil legal systems is a difficult and overwhelming decision. It is full of language and lengthy processes that you may not be familiar with. Whether you are thinking about reporting an assault or are already involved in reporting to the police, it can be an overwhelming experience in which support is available.
