Dayam Fernandes CCC, MA, BEd.

I am originally from Cuba and came to Canada in 2000. I studied a Bachelor in Education in Cuba where I also practiced teaching for the first two years of my career. When I moved to Canada, I worked as a teacher assistant for a couple of years until I was able to validate my degree, soon after I was working as a teacher in a loving and supportive school. I finished my Masters degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University in 2015 and started my own counselling practice right away in January 2016. I was hired to work on a part-time basis with Insight Counselling and Therapy Centre with which I remain linked professionally. In 2017 I became a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) and I am currently a Registered Counselling Therapist with the Alberta Counselling Therapy Association, soon to become the College of Counselling Therapist of Alberta. Post degree I have training in Transactional Analysis and Gottman Levels I and II.
