About this service
At the heart of JHSSs mandate is support and advocacy for incarcerated people and the families. Over the past year JHSS has been able to add a Public Legal Counsel position to our team. This position has greatly increased our ability to advocate for the needs and well-being of those we serve both publicly through advocacy and also within the prison system by adding legal representation for inmates to our list of services. We also offer support to inmates, family members, correctional staff, chaplains and community members inquiring about the criminal justice system and community support/resources through a toll-free support line, which you can reach by calling 1-866-584-2115.
