About this service
In 2015, Lloydminster was chosen to be 1 out of 5 Alberta communities to receive support from the Association of Alberta Sexual Assault Services (AASAS) to develop a Sexual Assault Response Team. AASAS had received funding from the Government of Alberta, Ministry of Health and Status of Women Canada. Over a two year period, the goal was to commit to supporting victims/survivors of sexual assault on their healing journey, to have responding agencies work together better and consistently and to encourage every citizen to become informed and support each other. Partnerships, training and protocols were formed, all with the same intention in mind to provide a supportive, multidisciplinary service to those impacted by sexual assault.
