The Program allow people with lower incomes to access quality public transportation. Greater access to public transportation allows individuals to more easily take part in workforce and community activities.
The purchase cost of the Discounted Bus Pass is shared by the Ministry of Social Services, the municipality and the individual.
Discounted bus passes are available to people who are currently receiving benefits from at least one of the following programs:
- Saskatchewan Income Support (SIS)
- Saskatchewan Assistance Program (SAP)
- Transitional Employment Allowance (TEA)
- Saskatchewan Assured Income for Disability Program (SAID)
- Saskatchewan Employment Supplement (SES)
- Provincial Training Allowance (PTA)
People looking to purchase a discounted bus pass need to visit their local public transit office. The process requires you to show proof you receive Social Services benefits. This can be as simple as showing deposit advice or cheque stub as part of the application process.
