Historical
In 1973, Carrefour-Adaptation, an organization then bringing together physically handicapped people from the Quebec metro area, presented a project to the Human Resources Department of Canada aimed at creating a specialized labor service within the framework of the federal government's Extension program. . Two years later, in 1975, the Extension project entitled La Croise started.
From 1982, the extension project " La Croise " will be sponsored by a non-profit corporation called "La Croise, SIT Inc." whose primary mission is to provide physically handicapped people with specialized services to help socio-professional.
After the repatriation of the workforce by the provincial government and the creation of Emploi Qubec in 2000, La Croise SIT Inc., now funded by the provincial government, will bear the name "SSMO" Specialized Workforce Service work for people with disabilities.
