Saint-Jean-Baptiste People's Committee

The Comit populaire Saint-Jean-Baptiste is a non-profit community organization resulting from the involvement and the will of the residents of the Saint-Jean-Baptiste district and whose priority is the defense of the rights and interests of population. Our interventions aim to promote planning and urban development that take into account the specificity of the district. Our actions are also linked to improving the socio-economic living conditions of the population. For more than forty years, our organization has fought for the protection of the neighborhood's residential character and for access to decent and affordable housing. In addition, the People's Committee, through its newspaper L'Infobourg and other public activities, informs and raises the awareness of the population, contributes to stimulate reflection and debate on subjects of public interest, just as it helps to bring low-income households out of isolation and to assert their rights.
