About this service
The Language Training Program is English language training for newcomers to Canada. We offer Literacy (for students with reading/writing challenges in their own language) as well as CLB Levels 1 through 8 classes, Monday through Friday.
Care for Newcomer Children childcare support is available to eligible participants for their children aged 6 months to 5 years, though space may be limited.
The Language Training Program helps students learn basic to advanced language skills that will be useful in their everyday lives. For instance, they can learn: the alphabet and numeric systems; how to ask for directions; how to talk to their childs teacher or their own teacher; how to explain their health concerns to the doctor, make an appointment; learn grammar instruction, how to prepare for post-secondary education and the Canadian work culture, TOEFL preparation, employment readiness as well as preparation for Citizenship.
