About this service
A Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) funded program. It is the assessment and referral centre for English language training programs. Included among these programs are: LINC Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada and ELT Enhanced Language Training. This service is offered free of charge to eligible new English language learners of Windsor, Essex County and Chatham-Kent Region.
The Centres Language Assessors administer the Canadian Language Benchmarks Assessment (CLBA), Canadian Language Benchmarks Literacy Assessment (CLBLA), Canadian Language Benchmarks Placement Test (CLBPT) and the Enhanced Language Training Placement Assessment (ELTPA) to prospective students.
Once levels of English language proficiency have been determined, clients are provided with information about LINC and ELT training sites as well as English as a Second Language classes offered through the school boards Adult and Continuing Education program.
