About this service
Approximately 20-25 clients are trained each year to work in paid positions, which include provision of service and cooking in the kitchen, janitorial services, program assistants in various capacities, clerical, etc. MHC strives to build on the strengths of clients to prepare them for integration back into the community.
Vocational positions assist clients as they develop purpose in their lives, by providing:
- structure and routine
- self confidence in a working environment
- learning on how to follow rules and take direction in a workplace
- skills for coping with stressful situations
- a sense of accomplishment
