About this service
Social Skills Group We offer group therapy for children 5-18 who struggle with social skills. Our groups follow the Social Thinking framework developed by Michelle Garcia Winner. This is an evidence-based framework developed to support children and youth who struggle to understand the thoughts and feelings of others. Jennifer Phillips obtained her Social Thinking clinical training certificate in 2018 at the Social Thinking clinic in Boston. Our groups target Social Thinking concepts (i.e., understanding thoughts and feelings, making smart guesses about others, using flexible thinking) in functional and motivating activities. Individual sessions targeting Social Thinking goals may also be provided for those clients who are not quite ready to participate in groups sessions.
