Canadian Federation of University Women - Kitchener - Waterloo

Our mission is to promote education, rights and opportunities for women. The CFUW K-W offers a forum for women to meet for camaraderie, intellectual curiosity, involvement and service to the community. We are a vibrant, welcoming group of around 200 women of all disciplines and ages, meeting to hear monthly guest speakers, and in 40+ special interest groups to share activities, friendship and fun. Membership is open to all women who share our vision. Our Vision We foster and support excellence in education, involvement in public affairs, improvement of human rights and the status of women while encouraging friendship and cooperation among our members.

What We Do Speaker Meetings Meetings are held monthly September to May, and include guest speaker presentations. Topics are diverse, current, educational and thought-provoking. Advocacy All members have the opportunity to join the Advocacy Committee. We use our experience, enthusiasm and expertise to bring about positive change. Interest Groups Groups get together, usually monthly, for socializing and learning - from book clubs and cultural outings to lunch and dinner groups and games. Scholarships We fundraise every year to provide annual scholarships to local students at the secondary and post-secondary education level.
